Abstract Energy storage systems are an important component of the energy transition, which is currently planned and launched in most developed developing countries. The article outlines development electric system for drilling based on electric-chemical generators. Description generalization given main objectives this when used rigs isolated within a single pad, whether these fed from diesel gensets, gas piston power plants, or 6–10 kV HV lines. studies operating modes rigs, provides general conclusions detailed results one more than fifty pads. Based research, generic architecture module developed, engineering prototype built. efficiency using hybrid accumulation design proven; calls joint use Li-ion cells supercapacitors, as well three-level inverters, to control system. reviews all possible options connecting into unified rig circuit, optimum solution substantiated. research tests yielded simplified mathematical model unit integrated circuit rig. forecast payoff period various utilization modes. findings study can help better understand type efficient with temporary high load peaks, like rigs.
